R.I.P -- Unyil

My dog, Unyil, passed this morning at about 8am...

She let us know she was sick at about 4am and I comforted her until the end! The vet came and went and came again but it was to no avail. She was seemingly in good health yesterday so it has been sudden, shocking, and tragic.

She was a great little dog; loving and loyal to the end!

Unyil is the second of my two dogs to have died within the last six months...So, my better half and I are in mourning again. We will miss her terribly as we have missed Chockie...

Seems to be!

But I will know more later in the day and if it is I will post a confirmation of that...If not then I will post what the reason was!

She's gorgeous! I cannot believe you lost two dogs in 6 months, were they really poisoned??

I never let my dog out of the house and even if he is he's always on leash all the time.

It's a mystery how anyone could hate dogs but in Indonesia apparently there are LOTS of them!

How old is she ? Poison ?

If she's been poisoned that the vet will know automatically.

Anyway, my condolence for Unyil. She's a cute dog ...

Thanks one and all for your condolences! Much appreciated at this time...

Chockie, our first dog, was poisoned in December. The vet seemed sure at the time. Unyil passed in a very similar manner, but the vet will let me know when he has the necessary tests done to confirm it!

Do they poison dogs in Indonesia? Yes! But to be fair dogs get poisoned in other countries too!

There has been a spate of poisonings in the complex in which we live. After Chockie was poisoned we made a vigilant effort to keep Unyil inside unless we were outside and watching what was going on...

I walked her every day (sometimes twice -- she was a lucky little bugger in that regard!) but always on a lead. Two reasons: one so she could not get away and eat any old crap floating around and because some people are genuinely scared of dogs (even dogs with the most gentle of spirits).

Both dogs in the space of 6 months has me wondering whether it is personal...

There are lots of dogs in Indonesia. A great many of them roam wild on the streets of Jakarta relatively unharmed and this is why the poisoning seems out of place to me.

However, if this is another poisoning then it is a case of you (the person that did it) better hope I never find out who you are!

Poisoning pets, and especially pets that are in yards, that have never harmed anyone is the lowest of the low.

These people are bottom feeders of the highest order, cowards, gutless wonders, and who if there is a God I hope that she or he is a vengeful God and exacts suitable and painful revenge on any low life that harms any of God's creatures and particularly so on the lousy bastard that poisoned our dogs!

Even if I was less upset than I am now, I do not think the sentiment would change!

Pretty sick stuff. I have my own views on this type of activity in Jakarta, but, discretion being the better part of valour I will refrain from publishing.

Condolences

So sorry Rob.

It appears you have an unsavory lowlife type living in your midst.

next time you're getting a dog perhaps you can train it not to accept food for strangers? but it's going to be a hard task considering how much dogs love to eat!

The vet confirmed poison...sadly she apparently died because of acute liver failure brought on by the poison...

Tere...

7 years old!

Most of my previous dogs have lived to a ripe old age and this is what makes this whole thing particularly sad and tragic for us!
