As simple beers go, this is a simple beer. It contains just four ingredients: water, barley, hops and yeast.
This was a refreshing drop; understated. The aroma was sweet with a noticeable honey and floral bouquet happening. The beer itself was not sweet though. This is a medium-bodied beer with a barely there malt taste. The expected bitterness was not really there either despite the beer being constructed from what seems the bare minimum of ingredients to make something that can be called beer.
James Boag is a Tasmanian Brewery that has been acquired by Lion Nathan, Australia's second biggest brewer. I have always been a little partial to the Boag's range of beers. There is something to be said for simple beers with all-natural Tasmanian ingredients. That said, it is not my favourite Boag's offering, but I would be more than willing to go a couple of more rounds with the naked green bottles that it comes in.
