Pending Fatherhood -- An Update

I am into the counting days mode already.

The birth might not be expected until the end of November or the beginning of December so I could probably keep counting down in weeks but that would be no fun now, would it? The Doc says that he thinks 7 December is a pretty good guesstimate.

We are excited.

Now, the little fella has obviously inherited the old man's genes as he is about 600 grams heavier than he is supposed to be at this stage. The last time I jumped on the scales I was about 600 grams heavier than I should be too!

He is a really active little bugger as well with a back-to-front sleep clock. That is when we want to sleep he wants to play. This is probably a bigger issue for the wife than it is for me as he practices his mixed martial arts techniques in the womb.

45 days to go!

Nah, just more baby stories.

Rima...

Mighty fine idea! I will see if I am techno savvy to work it out or with a bit of luck find one to steal from somewhere.

So, you have a birthday coming up. I will make a note.

You still doing your birthday parties at KFC? Ahhh, thighs ;)

Wishing baby, mommy, and daddy the best. Be healthy, wise, and wealthy!

I wouldn't get too relaxed with that calendar....
Heavier babies also sometimes mean doc didn't get the date right.

Still, I was over weight and still came out late.

Hey, it was comfortable. What can I say?

Jennie...

Thanks.

Boneman...

Actually hoping for a little sooner :D

Wow, that was fast! Are you SURE you guys have been pregnant for 7 months? It only seems like last week that you announced the big news!

Brett...

Time flies when you're having fun (well at least I heard that somewhere).

The "big day" is fast approaching.

Oh babies, they get me every time. Praying for you and so excited for the whole family. Can’t wait to hear the name :) I don't think it will be Joko, Budi or Wawan :)

Congrats Rob and missus! Better enjoy your good nights' sleep while you still can, you won't sleep sound again for the next 18 years after the baby arrive :)

Rob Baiton said...

Elyani...

Nope. Joko, Budi, and Wawan are not in the reckoning at the moment. We are leaning towards William. There are Williams all throughout both sides of my family.

There will be an Indonesian name. The little fella is going to be Indonesian, so it only seems right, don't you think?

Mia...

What a pleasant thought. Something to look forward to I guess, 18 years of restless sleep.

I commented before but there was a problem on commenting on this blog... dunno if it's working now.

Congrats, Rob! You're gonna be a daddy soon :)

So there will be no Joko, Wawan, and Budi things .. :-)

Are you going to name the lil one with sanskrit name or java kuno's name ? (it's also Indonesian name).

Pls tell me if you need the sanskrit/java kuno dictionary, I will lend it mine :-p

Send my regards to the "mom" to be.

Therry...

There was a problem with my blogger account yesterday.

Calupict...

Thanks for the link.

I see you've found a widget for the date.
See the baby driving?
We have several thousands that drive just about that good, here.

Heck. Baby is probably an improvement over some of these folks!

Hi Rob,

Newcomer here. Congrats for you and your wife. I'll hang around here to read more of your interesting posts.

And, about counting down mode, the baby will come out whenever he wants (I mean not the exact predicted date by the doc).

Tree...

There are special herbs and spices at KFC, right?

Boneman...

Yep, perhaps baby is. With the help of Calupict I found a widget that seems to do the trick.

Lorraine...

Thanks for dropping by and leaving a comment.

Yes, I think the Kid will be making the decision on entry into this qorld all by himself.

The little fella does seem a little keen to get started on this journey.

Agree with Rima, you should have countdown widget for the baby.

Exciting days indeed.

The widget thingy is at the top of the page and above all the posts.
