Tattoos and Women...

I am a fan of tattoos. I always have been, and I cannot see any reason why I won't always be a fan.

Tattoos, like other great art, can be appreciated for not only their beauty but the stories they tell. When I started getting tattoos, tattoos were yet to be the mainstream that they are today. I am not suggesting for one minute I am a trend-setter or that I preceded the trend. Rather, I am merely pointing out how things change. I am pretty certain that trends come and go much more easily than some people appreciate. You really have to love what you get. This is particularly so when your family is not so keen on the skin art that you may get done.

I am also a pretty keen watcher of tattoo programs like Miami Ink, LA Ink and Tattoo Wars, particularly while I was in Indonesia (I always seemed to have more time for TV).

Here is a collection of artwork that I have discovered on the internet. I just did a simple search for tattoos and women. I came up with these.

Art-wise, I really like this one!

Kat Von D of LA Ink fame. One of my favourite portrait artists. I hope one day to get some work done by her, a portrait of course!

I saw this one and just had to post it! After all, who gives a magazine a title like "Prick"?

Is This An Advertisement?

These images came courtesy of GQ Magazine in the UK. As far as I can make out it is something to do with Chinese Women's soccer. Although, to me it looks like an advertisement for underwear. Nevertheless, keeping with the theme of distracting the Yemeni beach volleyball team...

Beach Volleyball: A Follow-Up...

My Good blog friend Harry over at Multibrand reposted a musing of mine on beach volleyball, particularly the excuse used by the Yemeni team for a loss during their Asian Games campaign; women in bikinis distracted them to the point of losing matches.

So, with that in mind, and in light of the comments he received to that post, I post this follow-up. The point is how distracted will the Yemenis be once they get anywhere near the women's beach volleyball circuit outside of the Asian Games.

Some pictures of the distractions that are sure to be really and truly bothersome for the Yemenis. These images might also go some way to explaining why beach volleyball, particularly the women's game, is so popular!

Ahmadinejad vs. TitS...

It is pretty sad to suggest that Ahmadinejad can show anyone the way to do things right, but...

At least Ahmadinejad seems to be true to what he believes in. I guess there is no need for Ahmadinejad to take to Twitter and Facebook in an attempt to explain the "touch". Too bad, Tifatul Sembiring (aka TitS) can only talk the talk and not walk the walk.

So, what is the "look" on SBY's face suggest?

My thanks to Pak Dedy A. Prasetyo for the photo.

TitS and the Porn Star Phenomenon...

Poor old Tifatul Sembiring (AKA "TitS" for those of you who are yet to read my earlier posts on the man and his mission) has a problem with porn stars! I am not sure that the preceding statement needs any further clarification. Nevertheless, it is going to get one. It seems TitS has determined that hiring foreign porn stars to star in local horror movies is just another way that local film producers are going about poking fun at the moral standards held dear by Indonesians. The other problem that TitS seemingly has is that hiring international porn stars undermines his anti-porn message.

The recently released film "The Moans of a Virgin Ghost" (Rintihan Kuntilanak Perawan) which starred the [in]famous porn star Tera Patrick and the less famous Indonesian [porn star] wannabes of Catherine Wilson and Angelique came in for special mention by the poorly-performing Minister of Communication and Information.

The Minister has taken this film, and the bringing in of Tera Patrick to star in the film, way to personally. It really is not an attempt to either mock the Minister or to mock Indonesia's anti-pornography laws. According to TitS, Tera Patrick "personifies the resistance to morality". Nice call, Minister. So, self-confessed polygamists are not a moral challenge to the Indonesian community? Violence against women and children can take many forms. If one is going to campaign against moral evil, then it makes sense to line up all the morally reprehensible and deal with them all at once.

The exploitation of porn stars in non-porn roles, particularly big-name foreign porn stars such as Patrick, Miyabi (Maria Ozawa) and Rin Sakuragi is nothing more that smart marketing designed to generate as much cheap advertising as they can by orchestrating controversy. What is really sad is that the Minister and the FPI, among others, continue to fall for this viral marketing strategy.

But, thanks TitS, this would seem like a most gratuitous time to post more pictures of Tera Patrick in "all" her glory!

She must be wearing a different cut of swimmers to what she normally wears...

Women and Men -- What Women Really Want...

I could not resist posting this little tid bit of information on a little piece of research that suggests that men and women are not all that different after all when it comes to choosing a partner.

D & M Research have done some research (kind of seems appropriate considering their name) by surveying 2800 women and have found that the majority of women look for looks and sex appeal when looking at a man.

I am not sure that a sample of 2800 will convince the vast majority of people out there that women really do look at men as sex objects and as man bags (accessories). But, at least, it will give us men something to chat about over coffee down at the pub!

So, women of the world, your secret is out. There are much more base and primal instincts at play than you have been caring to admit, huh?

The survey results actually revealed most of what was expected, namely women will say things like honesty, trustworthiness, love, respect and humour are important. But, when it gets down to the nitty gritty, what really matters is a hot bod that you will feel comfortable with taking to bed, and a little masculinity thrown in as icing on the cake.

Johnny Depp, George Clooney, Hugh Jackman, and Rob Baiton rated well as the type of men that women were looking for. However, Kyle Sandilands, Shane Warne and Tiger Woods rated pretty poorly with respect to what women were looking for in a man.

So, there you go!

But, as a final point (and tongue in cheek for all you literal types out there), how do the ugly blokes get laid again? Is it lots of beer and spirits?

The mind boggles at the human condition.

Ho hum...
