Paris Hilton: Exposed...

I thought that Paris Hilton had a chain of fashion stores in her own name. If I am not mistaken, didn't she open one of these in Indonesia?

I am wondering if she shops at her own stores? I am also wondering if this outfit is available in Indonesia? And, the final wondering here is, if this outfit is available in Indonesia, is anyone buying it?

Hmmm...not a whole lot to the imagination here, is there?

Notice the paparazzo shadow across her back. I would hate to be a celebrity and never get a moments peace from being photographed. I am sure that there are those out there that would be arguing that hitting the streets in an outfit like this one is as good as asking to be photographed. However, Hilton, like anyone else can wear whatever they like, including this outfit, and they should be able to do it without fear of being hassled by paparazzi at every turn.

The idea that celebrities ask for it as part of being public figures, and that they have no right to personal space in the public sphere is not all that different from arguing that a woman who wears a short skirt is asking to be raped and therefore she should be afforded less protection than a woman dressed in a more 'modest' manner.

There just seems to be something inherently wrong with the logic on this one.

The truth though is that it is us, the consumers, that feed this monster. Our insatiable appetite for celebrity gossip and stupidity means there is a ready market for most pictures.

I do like the shirt though! Is she trying to tell any potential suitors what they are in for if they pursue her to the ends of the earth?

Ear Fetish -- Kim Kardashian...

Maybe if I do another Kim Kardashian related post people will start to think that I have a Kim Kardashian fetish. But, hey, she is good for some really interesting sound bites.

The latest being that she has professed that she is extremely turned on by men with small lobes. Although, I am told by those who have watched her in action in her previous life as a "celebrity sex tape" star that she also gets pretty turned on by things not so small either. I will just have to take their word on that one.

Anyways, Ms. Kardashian has indicated that she might be one to consider the size of a man's ears when considering whether or not he would be the perfect mate. The idea being that the combination of genes from the two pools will incorporate the features of the donors to that pool; Ms. Kardashian is worried about what her kids will look like, and big ears are not in this year.

Nevertheless, any small-lobed men out there thinking you are in like Flynn, think again. Ms. Kardashian is taking a break from dating after her recent bust up with the now former boyfriend, Miles Austin. No matter how turned on she gets by the little lobes she is not going to be pursuing her fetish for a while as she is more concerned about what people might call her if she is seen out on dates with different men, namely: slut. Personally, I think she worries too much!

Lady Gaga -- The Grammys

I have never really been able to work out Lady Gaga's outfits. However, one has to agree she is never short on the making a scene front. If you asked me to name a Lady Gaga song or album, then I would have to look it up. I am not a "fan" in the music sense of the word. Yet, to be honest I have not listened to any of her music that I recall.

However, she is one of those artists that you just cannot miss. And, I think it is the 'excellent' wardrobe choices that she makes for award shows, arriving at airports, or just strolling the streets, that keeps her in the public eye. More power to her for being true to herself!

Is this a barely does the trick outfit, or what?

Women's Tennis -- The Tennis or The Fashion? (Part II)

It would seem that Maria Sharapova is not the only female tennis star running up against the fashion police. Venus Williams wore a revealing little yellow number in her most recent match. And, in a distinct difference to Ms. Sharapova, the dress did not affect her performance as she ran out a comfortable winner.

It appears that the [mini] dress was a little more revealing than some people had hoped for, and probably not revealing enough for others, and sparked a bit of debate as to whether she was wearing any underwear, knickers, panties, or whatever the undergarments are called in sport.

The photos do not leave much to the imagination. Venus is clearly wearing underwear. She is most definitely not going commando.

I guess if you win your matches easily then the press needs to drum up interest in other parts of the performance.

Women's Tennis -- The Tennis or The Fashion?

It would seem that Maria Sharapova's choice of tennis attire gained as much, if not more, attention than the quality of her loss.

I wonder what is more important, what women wear when they play tennis or the quality of tennis that they play?

No one seems to be saying that Sharapova lost her first round match because of a wardrobe malfunction or because her outfit was inappropriate for tennis. The majority just seem to think her fashion sense is poor. Maybe it is time that the focus returns to more substantive matters such as whether the quality of her play justifies the huge endorsement contracts that she has. Or, even more simply, to issues like congratulating the solid play of the young woman who beat her, Maria Kirilenko.

But, a Maria Sharapova post lends itself to some pictures.
